US MARSHALS

Back row, second from left: George Pike, US Assistant Marshal.  The caption says 'rounding up slackers'.  I believe it was in World War I.  Some of these old photos say Stamps, AR; others says Stephens, AR.  I am assuming this was his territroy. I would welocme any information as I have been unable to find any of his records.

The back of this photo says "Whiskey Still captured near Acorn."  George Pike is 3rd from left and it lists some other names although the first names are torn off. It says from left: Thornton, 6th;  Hazel, 7th;  Reed, 9th;  and last on the right is the Revenue Man.

A close up of the Whiskey Still.  These photos are sepia pasted onto cardboard and I hope to improve the photos later. Obviously the first was scanned by my mom's professional high quality scanner and alas the second are my poor quality!
