WELCOME TO MY PIKE FAMILY WEB SITE:

I was very fortunate in having a letter from my Grandmother, Edna Mae Pike, which I have excerpted generously in Captain Joshua Pike's history. That letter left me with enough clues to make the search interesting, challenging and fun but I have only begun. This page would not be here if it weren't for my Mother's contagious enthusiasm. Although this page is my paternal page, I have lingered in the wings of my Mother's genealogy drama for so long that I was bitten and finally took the plunge. Although my research is just starting, I have decided to create this page now--I am afraid that if I don't I will become overwhelmed with the collected material. So here is hoping this will keep me somewhat organized and I can add to it as I go even though the more I learn the more I feel it will always be a works in progress. I also hope that other Pike's will create links and we can form one big shirttail cousin database.

I always thought I was a pretty good student of history and had a decent understanding of the Civil War but by researching my genealogy I have a much better visualization and perception of how deeply it divided our country. This website is dedicated to my GGG Grandfather who was a Captain in the Union with the state of Kansas but on the other side of my family is my GGGG Grandfather, John Ford, SR., a Revolutionary War Veteran who led a caravan of families from Virginia to settle in Grassy Cove, Tennessee. He had 21 grandsons who fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. To see my Mom's webpage and read about the Ford family genealogy click here.

If you have Pike connections please email me as I would love to hear from you as well as add your link to my page.  WELCOME TO MY PIKE FAMILY WEB SI
